Union Jacked

Click Cartoon for Larger Size
Surprising absolutely no one, Obama, Pelosi and Reid have decided (behind closed doors) to give a huge healthcare tax break to the unions. Individuals with so-called "cadillac healthcare plans" will pay a new, hefty 40% tax...but if an identical plan is owned by a member of a Democrat-friendly union, they'll pay no additional taxes at all until at least 2018.

This means a loss of $60 billion in tax revenue which will have to either come out of medical services...or additional costs for any individuals who haven't struck a devil's deal with the Democrats.

Does it make sense that people should pay different amounts for their healthcare based only on political cronyism? And with this happening already, can anyone seriously believe that politics won't also play a role (even a life-threatening role) in the medical care we can eventually expect?

All this "Making deals in the backroom" sounds more like doings of the mob, rather than elected officials making major decisions for the country.

Its disgusting.

The health care bill sounds like its getting worse, and worse, and worse, and if its voted in at all, it will be because a bunch of unethical people were bribed and coerced to vote "yes" for selfish reasons, or even fear.

Suzy- the Healthcare bill shows the degree to which Obama was lying as a candidate. Transparency? No lobbyists? The end of "special interests?" Bipartisanship? The list goes on and on.

The Healthcare bill is the 9/11 of legislation. And even worse than that is the fact that the Democrats know it but will still vote for it if the bribes are big enough.

Wow...9/11...that's exactly what it is...and similarly, its been in the works for a LONG time...since at least the Clinton administration, and probably before. And equally similarly, some of the Dems are willing to commit political suicide to ram it through.

They have said it before. This a foot in the door and taking control of our economy and our lives is far more important than the 2010 elections. They see this as a once in a lifetime shot at socialism and it is worth any cost. Once it's law, they can quietly fix all of the "problems" created by all of this bartering.

Gee....a Socialist "president" sucking up to unions....Who'd thunk it?

I am amused that fancy plans are called "Cadillac" when most of the lefties would never be caught dead owning or driving a Caddie.
