Yes They Can

During the debate over Obamacare, liberals mocked the idea that it would lead to government "Death Panels" which decide who receives life-saving medical care...and who doesn't.

Which is why Barack Obama just used his "recess appointment" power to hire the man who will institute those panels without needing to answer any troublesome confirmation questions.

Dr. Donald Berwick is the new Administrator over Medicare and Medicaid...and he's made it very clear that his goals for those vast programs are based on two main principles: rationing of healthcare and redistribution of wealth.

Berwick is practically orgasmic when describing Britain's National Health Service, which routinely tells patients to go home and die if life-saving treatment is considered too costly. "I am a romantic about the National Health Service," he says. "I love it." He then went on to call the denial-of-care service "such a seductress," which makes us wonder if the good doctor has been tapping into the Viagra samples.

But on a more serious note - in fact, a deadly serious note - Berwick says "The decision is not whether or not we will ration care—the decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open." In other words, the government will be making the decisions about who lives and who dies. Not based on who you are, who you love and who loves you, what you've accomplished or hope to accomplish, or even whether or not you've earned enough to pay for care if it were available.

Instead, care will be given to those who are most cost-effective to heal. And if your longterm prospects aren't good (because you're already old, for instance) you're a bad investment. You will receive, in Obama's words "painkillers instead of pacemakers."

Berwick is equally clear that he dislikes the free market system, and sees "wealth redistribution" as an integral and even desirable component of the Obamacare system.

Let's be clear: Obamacare is driving up the costs of medical procedures...driving up the costs of insurance...and, with the appointment of Berwick, reducing or eliminating healthcare for many who currently have it.

This being the case, the goal of Obamacare is not, and never has been, about either cost control or medical care. It is, in its entirety, a policy solely created for the radical redistribution of wealth.

Dr. Marx will see you now. Leave your valuables on the table.

Every single day I need health care more and more because this administration sickens me with each move it makes. Who didn't see all of this coming? Yeah, I know, I answered my own question...Bart Stupak, Dennis Kucinich, Ron Kind...

Did you say "wood chipper"?
CLASSIC!

I see it all pretty clearly now. This is but another step in Obama's plan to eliminate his detractors, don't you see? Wanda Sykes let it slip when she wished kidney failure on Limbaugh. Now, all they have to do is make her wish comes true, have Berwick withhold treatment, and *PRESTO!* - one detractor eliminated...

What is that I hear playing in the background? Fail To The Chief? Love that tune...

Theses people are all willing murderers. They do not care who it is that they murder; they do it indiscriminately. "Equal Opportunity Murder" we might call it.

It is one thing to suck everyone into a government run "health care" program with the government paying the bills and therefore claiming the right to make the decisions.

It is a much, much more evil thing to say that a person may not pay for health care out of their own pocket, making their own decisions, and not being dependent on the government at all. Of course, that does not play into the overall scheme of government control and redistribution, so this will not be permitted either. People must die on schedule. Evil, evil, evil.

How dare they play God in this way?

As funny at that is, it's scary as hell because the older generation are the majority of the people who can see where the country is going and what the result must inevitably be. It's the younger generation who are ignorantly letting government lead them around by the nose while robbing their pockets and kissing their cheeks.

Eliminate the older populous and what do you get? A majority of voters who vote based on suits and silver tongues.

Scary stuff.

*Sigh* I still can't believe NOBODY has even TRIED to impeach Obama for methodically destroying our country...setting brother against brother, state against state, race against race, and effectively dismantling our foundations.

I honestly think Obama would be able to do (with pleasure) everything Hitler did, if given a chance.

I can only recommend people read the Communist Manifesto followed by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's works. That's cause and effect - and precisely where the current occupants would have us all go.

If after reading these, you have a Dickensian moment (re: "Men's courses will foreshadow certain ends, to which, if persevered in, they must lead," said Scrooge. "But if the courses be departed from, the ends will change. Say it is thus with what you show me!"), then read the Constitution of The United States and, for interpretation, The Federalist Papers. Once digested and understood, you will know what course we should all take to avoid the path laid bare before us...

I like to re-read it every 4 years, to remind me why it's important to vote correctly.
It was chilling 2 years ago, frightening now.

Readers- As usual, great comments across the board. This is scary stuff, because there are a lot of reasons - political and financial - which give the liberals incentive to hurry older folks to the grave.

And they're pushing their agenda with a cold, dispassionately logical rhetoric which calls to mind the grim efficiency with which the Nazis executed their "Final Solution."

Make no mistake: "painkillers instead of pacemakers" is a death sentence for those who need pacemakers.

The liberals' "final solution" doesn't require gas chambers... just the votes of the ill-informed and self-interested.

Stilton, Hard to believe you lifted my earlier suggestion for removing certain politicians via the "big woodchipper solution" and turned it against the rest of us this way...........
Of course the pity of it is that you hit exactly the solution these bastards are cooking up for us. Time to put the Soylent Green movie back in the vcr one more time, and fast forward to the Edward G. Robinson scene of him watching the government provided movies of all the newly extinct animals romping around while the poison drips into him, courtesy of the government, just prior to his own trip to the wood chipper. I remember being slightly horrified at the end, when Charleton Heston discovered that Soylent Green is people; hadn't even considered the further horror that somebody like the new healthcare czar might be watching the same movie and being inspired by it. Funny old world, innit?

Many German citizens claimed they had no clue that Jews were being gassed to death practically under their noses.

I see way too many similarities here...

The scary part is...out of all the holocaust books I've read...many Jews had the opportunity to get out before things got bad. But they said "No...nothing like that will ever happen here." Often, two years later, their bones were lying in a ditch.

Now, I'm not saying our country is headed that way. On the other hand, that's what THEY said, too.....*sigh*

Im feeling the frustration too, unlike Ive known before...this is unprecented in this country in my lifetime.

I have studied up on history, socialism, communism and the like, and I think everyone should educate themselves, but like someone said, its the mature folks who can see whats going on and nobody in this culture cares a whit what anyone over 50 thinks! Pray for the BIG CHANGE this November!!!

If this administration doesnt gets it golden ticket (their super majority in congress) taken away from them, theyll continure to ride hard over everything in their deluded path, some blindly following the democratic jackass, others totally aware of what they are doing to their home country, and thats the part I cant really get hold of. I agree Suzy...sighhhh

FrontWoodsman- Hey, I never said I didn't like wood chippers! (grin)

On a more serious note, the euthanasia scene from "Soylent Green" seems terrifyingly believable these days. It's made to look efficient, painless, and almost beautiful in a secularly spiritual way. A reasonable choice.

And of course, Obamacare requires "end of life counseling" for seniors - even healthy ones - to help them consider all of their options, including whether they wish to continue being a burden to their families and the nation.

Suzy- We'd all like to believe that "it can't happen here" and that no one can kill just for economic expediency. But when Obama says "Yes We Can"... he means it.

TheOldMan said...

How about "end of term counseling" for these wackos?

Dr. D, I would have been willing to bet that Democrat voters wouldn't get the Soylent Green treatment, but then I remember reading in "The Gulag Archipelago" about how many prisoners were "good Communists" and Stalin had them thrown in prisons anyway....

What nobody seems to be asking is who owns the hospitals outside of the country? The ones where all the 'well to do' Americans will be going after Obamacare comes fully into play!! Follow the money!

I was going to say that my post would have violated Godwin's Law, despite being so fitting, but Suzy beat me to the punch, er, post.

When I mention a given date was important in history I get blank looks, and, once, the comment: "I wasn't born then.", as if history prior to one's birth was unimportant.

You can't learn from history if you don't know it, and you can't even look it up on he web if you don't know you need it.

Those of us who have seen the flow of time a bit (scary that I've gotten so old to see it) have got to keep getting the word out!
