Diss Me, Kate

Actually, Muammar Gaddafi wasn't on the final list of invitations for the royal wedding of England's Prince William and Kate Middleton...but even so, we're guessing that he came closer to making the cutoff than America's "new Camelot" couple, Barack and Michelle Obama.

In the interest of civility, some sources have suggested that they weren't invited simply because England couldn't afford the cost of the additional security which would be needed to keep Michelle from eating all the jumbo shrimp at the wedding reception. But we think there's more to it than that.

After all, Barack Obama has gone out of his way to offend the British every chance he gets. When beginning his presidency, he removed a bust of Winston Churchill from the Oval Office and sent it back to England. The bust had been given in the aftermath of 9/11, to remind Americans to be strong and know they had allies standing with them in troubled times.
Ouch.

Mr. Obama also gifted the Prime Minister of England with a cheap collection of American movies on DVD which wouldn't play on British DVD players. He then topped himself by giving the Queen of England an iPod which was already filled with Obama's speeches and video of his inauguration.
Double ouch.

Of course, the alleged First Family won't be lacking for social events even if they
don't get to attend the wedding. They might throw another "Motown Night" to show that the president is working tirelessly on the growing chaos in the Mideast, or perhaps stage another Ramadan feast at which Mr. Obama can announce his support for new Islamic building projects at Ground Zero.

Or maybe they'll just spend a quiet evening at home watching the movies which were returned from England. Muammar Gaddafi can bring the popcorn.

It's the thought that counts.

Personally, I wouldn't invite them to a dog fight, even if Michelle promised to win...they have done more to damage this country and it's reputation than ANY former 1st Couple. Ever notice how socialist think that Socialism is for everyone else? Their vacations, excessive spending and feeling they are royal themselves prove the point. They need to leave...the sooner the better.

"Motown Night" to celebrate the growing chaos in the Mideast??? How about to celebrate the growing thuggery in our Midwest?

Obama, and the Left, and Socialists galore, and the elites and probably a lot of RINOs too, are simply royalty and nobility without the ermine. They even exempt themselves from the law as kings of old did.

Funny how Medieval kings and nobility were for controlling the weapons of the day, too. Peasants were required to return anything dangerous back to the castle gate before going home each evening. The regulations of those times are quite similar to gun control today. And Medieval nobility was always worried about a peasant uprising -- of which there were hundreds for centuries -- over taxes and controlling the people's lives. Somethings just don't change, eh?

Jim:
And if you weren't nobility, you were what? Serfs trying to eke out an existence for your families on land belonging to the nobles (government) while paying taxes to those nobles who then paid tribute to their king who favored them and kept them nobles.
You're right, some things just don't change.

They don't deserve an invite to the wedding.

I'm still ashamed about that Winston Churchill thing. I hope our next President will graciously ask for it back along with giving an apology.

You know, after all the apologies that have been given for America the past few years....the next President will actually have to give real ones. Unfortunately.

They didn't invite the O'Bama's because they've already got an iPod.

Moo-shell didn't get an invite?

Jack Links Presents, "The Royal Family: Messing With Sasquatch".

I think we should honestly be glad they did not get an invite. Face it, it would have been yet another "FAIL" moment waiting to happen.

And Suzy makes a great point. How should our next president try to make up for the biggest failure in American history? We're sorry the waters didn't recede and the planet didn't really heal?

By the way, when is King Hussein going to fix everything? And where is usama? According to Jon Stewart he's ten ft. tall and dragging around an iron lung or some damn thing. How hard is he to spot, right?

Boy, that whole "reality" thing is a b!tch ain't it?

Dead on! And, even granting that the offenses to our British allies were a deliberate part of the Manchurian Strategy...

What sort of enabler-surrounded mid-IQ sociopath even conceives of an iPod completely filled with his own speeches and video? On a three inch screen?

Even Bill NAFTA-Blue-Dress-Definition-Of-'Is'-Impeachment Clinton managed to keep his own late stage narcissopathy under some faint vestigial traces of control.

I've never felt that any elected US official should attend any functions of "royalty", just because of our history in relation to royalty. The non-invitation of Barack Hussein and Michelle Antoinette is SO poetic-justice perfect, though!

Not only that, but Barack Hussein isn't worthy of picking up Churchill's cigar butts.

"Extra security for the shrimp bar" - no doubt! She'd tear through that like a polyester Pac-Man at a televangelist convention.

What a pair of buffoons!

I was all in a fit over the thing about the Churchill bust, but then, from the article you linked to:

"Churchill has less happy connotations for Mr Obama than those American politicians who celebrate his wartime leadership. It was during Churchill's second premiership that Britain suppressed Kenya's Mau Mau rebellion. Among Kenyans allegedly tortured by the colonial regime included one Hussein Onyango Obama, the President's grandfather."

...well, O.K. O.K., that is a pretty good reason for getting rid of the bust. We're all only human, here. Granted, were I in his place, I would've stuffed it in a White House closet or something instead of risking raising the ire of Britain, but still.

No excuse for the Ipod/DVD set fiasco, though.

Jamie- I've mentioned the Mau Mau connection here before, and you're right: it's understandable that Obama has chilly feelings toward Churchill if the story is true. Still, it certainly highlights the "otherness" of this president, and reminds us that he doesn't look at history - or our country - the way most of us do.

JustaJeepGuy said...

Mau Mau doesn't matter. Barack Hussein wouldn't have known anything about his grandfather unless his flake mother told him, long after the uprising was over. He still isn't worthy to pick up Churchill's trash. Even when he's as old as Churchill, he still won't be worthy. He will never do anything as great or as well as Churchill did.
