Gaddafi Ducking
Despite being legally compelled by the War Powers Act to justify his one-man war against Libya to Congress, Barack "Mr. Transparency" Obama has essentially told our nation's representatives that they can piss up a rope...and adds that he has nothing to explain because there is no war in Libya.
Ohhhhhhh!
Well, we can certainly see where John Boehner and a huge majority of others (Republicans and Democrats) in Congress could get confused, what with American bombs and missiles blowing the living crap out of Tripoli, and bloody chunks of Libyan soldiers and civilians flying around in highly kinetic ways. But Mr. Obama's lawyers explain that it isn't really war because the other side is "unable to exchange meaningful fire with American forces."
In other words, an American president can rain down death and destruction on any country he wants, for as long as he wants, with no explanation to Congress - as long as he doesn't give the other side a really good chance to shoot back.
Using the president's convoluted logic, we suppose that Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor wasn't really war either. It was more of a surprise party with lots of casualties! Whee! And the Holocaust was no big deal either, because those starving Jews certainly couldn't put up a credible fight while being marched to the ovens. So no harm - no foul, right?
Wrong. America's military is not a toy to be wielded unilaterally and unaccountably by an inexperienced and ineffectual president for purely political purposes, as is certainly the case here. And matters of life, death, and our national honor are too important for semantic games played by the president and his legal team.
Barack Obama's contempt for Congress and the War Powers Act are beyond unacceptable. It's time that a serious case was made for impeachment and removal from office.

Just more lies from HRH Obummer!
"Shovel-ready citizens"
Wonderfully assembled verbal poniard, one (1) Obama, for the skewering of! It could be that shovel-ready civilians, from manifold causes, will be the single greatest legacy of our Global vandal-in-chief.
You know I am having this really weird sense of duja vu...wasn't it just less then ten years ago that the dummycrats were screaming that Bush was a warmongering criminal and that he should be impeached for getting us involved in two wars? I must be losing my mind or at least that's what MR A**hole in Chief is hoping that by election time all the voters will go absolutely insane and not remember what a bunch of hypocrites the Democrats are......
I have a lot more to rant on about but it's way to early in the morning for my blood pressure to set new height records. Maybe a lot more of a rant later!
My theory is, he's doing this to impress Jodie Foster.
I can almost hear Turd-boy telling Boehner and Congress to "put some ice on that". Meanwhile the LSM is trying to convince us that the Republican primaries are already over and Me Too Mitt is our candidate. This is designed to make those of us who remember what freedom means fall into despair and sit quietly, waiting for the lions to eat us last.
Jody Foster - heh!
If I recall correctly, she'd be more impressed w/ Michelle's 'sculpted' arms...
The only problem w/ impeaching BO is that if successful, we'd have crazy Joe to deal with. I can see the whole world laughing about that..
Pete(Detroit):
The Clinton experience has insulated all future Democrat presidents from impeachment. If you can't impeach a president for felony violations of existing law, how can you impeach for the (currently) undefinable crime of treason?
Impeach...don't we wish!
My Dog Brewski -
It still amazes me how many people think he was impeached for what would, for anyone else, have been de-facto sexual harassment of the felony kind (well, maybe not - but any CEO would be fired on the spot).
It wasn't that he was cavorting in the oval office, during 'business hours', and likely while on the phone w/ people - it was that he lied about it, under oath.
Perjury.
As far as Barak goes, I think an argument could be made for 'giving aid and comfort to the enemy'...
But hey, that's just me.
The most astonishing thing here is that Bush was accused of leading illegal wars, yet he had approval of congress. The man-child in the white never bothered to even ask congress and was even in Rio when that war began, yet no one's batting an eye as he lies to the whole nation calling it a "kinetic action". The double standard is as clear as day and night.
When the president commits an impeachable offense, but the media doesn’t cover it … did it happen?
Sadly, the answer is almost an emphatic “No”. So, we have the pusillanimous congress-critters blithely ignoring the gravity of the situation … because they can. Both parties have argued against the War Powers Act when their guy was in the Whitehouse, so any finger-pointing they do can be brushed off as hypocritical. Many “Americans” call Iraq an illegal war, even though it was, in all respects, legal … but let’s not let facts influence beliefs! The media said it was illegal, so it WAS.
There are no calls for impeachment reaching the ears of the huddled-masses because those sound bytes are not in the media. Add to this that a preponderance of people don’t even keep abreast of current events (unless it involves Idol or their sports teams or some other trivial pursuits), and you have the perfect conditions for the complete overthrow of the Republic without so much as a whimper from the majority of the citizenry.
Our Liberty will not be lost. We are giving it away. The “few” that truly resist will be branded terrorists and summarily dispatched. Our last real hope may be in a Military that, I can only hope, is willing to do their duty and disobey illegal orders from the Usurper-in-Chief … when the time comes.
“Pusillanimous Congress-Critters” would be a good name for a rock band!
To remember, to Progressives, "the law" isn't a construct that applies to all citizens to live by equally, but is just a rhetorical impediment to whatever is expedient at the moment.
This is a historic moment in American history as Barak Obama sets new, world records the number of people killed by a Nobel peace prize winner.
@Readers- Excellent comments above. I'm still dumbfounded today that there's no huge reaction (wait, did I say "huge?" I meant "any") to this story in the media. What the hell has happened to our country when Anthony Weiner's weiner gets more press than a war?
And while we're considering Barack Obama's willingness to use military force illegally, let's not forget that this is the man who ominously called for a new "Civilian National Security Force" that's just as big, just as powerful, and just as well funded as the military to control things within our borders.
Combine that with the fact that just within the past few days, this administration gave the FBI new powers of surveillance over persons who are not suspected of any criminal or terroristic activity. Which would be...whom exactly?
I am beyond livid.

And of course, you can hear the uproar from the Civil Liberties proponents over that one, can't you? Not to mention the protests from the MSM..............
@JustaJeepGuy- Exactly. I remember news stories about the "brave" librarians who would destroy the reading records of suspected terrorists before letting Bush's "Patriot Act Gestapos" get a look at them. In fact, the MSM seemed to think invasion of library records was the greatest threat to personal freedom ever.
But open the door for investigation of people suspected of no criminal activity, complete with the lack of need for warrants or even written records, and we hear not a freakin' peep.
Seriously if Barack Obama was ever to stand in the presence of the Constitution, I think it would play out like the Nazis peeking into the Ark of the Covenant at the end of "Raiders of the Lost Ark."
Off topic:
Well, Weiner has pulled out of the house.
I, for one, am sorry to see him go. I believe he has, for the past 3 weeks, been an excellent and approriate representative for the left.
