After meeting with cool-headed civil rights experts like Al Sharpton in the White House, Barack Obama announced plans to spend $263 million on "improving" police training ("Always remember to say please get on the ground...") and supplying 50,000 body cameras to police officers so that criminal lawyers can find even more ways to make life miserable for cops.
Philosophically, we're in favor of cameras for cops (had officer Darren Wilson been wearing one, Michael Brown's thuggish death would have been quickly covered up by the Left) - we're just afraid of how the video records will be abused to hinder law enforcement.
Meanwhile, we're sick of the narrative about Michael Brown being a "gentle giant" who was brutally murdered before he was able to find a cure for cancer, write the Great American Novel, or sign a multi-million dollar contract with the Rams.
The security video on which the above cartoon is based makes it entirely clear that Brown was a huge, thieving bully. The Grand Jury found that he was the aggressor in his final confrontation with the law. He was no saint...and frankly, no great loss to society.
And speaking of the Grand Jury decision, Eric Holder made a speech in Martin Luther King Jr's former church in which he drew applause by saying that the preposterously-named "Justice" Department is still pursuing its own investigations into Michael Brown's death. One which presumably won't be encumbered by the physical evidence and witness testimony which has already exonerated officer Wilson.
Holder also declared that he will be instituting a plan to "end racial profiling, once and for all." Presumably by making it illegal for crime victims to actually describe their assailants.
And finally, regardless of race, creed, or color, we believe that anyone who showboats with the "Hands up, don't shoot" gesture is a complete and total race-baiting idiot. Even (or perhaps especially) if they happen to be members of the entirely segregated Congressional Black Caucus.

Who knew Democrats had "jazz hands"?
When I was a kid, a black friend told me that THAT was how a black person gets a TAN.
Ever notice how the last 2 saints christened by the media achieved sainthood by beating guys with guns? Maybe people should stop doing that.
When cops shoot innocent white people, shoot non-aggressive dogs, and deliberatley stomp on pet birds, Barry and the leftists don't complain. But when a white cop shoots a black person, the cop is guilty of being an evil murderous racist without trial, and must be executed by the mob, and the black person is a saint, no matter what crimes he had committed.
I like cameras for cops, but they tend to "malfunction" whenever they break the law themselves.
Holder has gone to sherwin williams to get color swaths made for who they can shoot, profile and arrest and who they can not, for each and every white officer in the nation.
It is painfully obvious to me that the racial division tactics being employed by this administration are mearly a distraction from their true agenda of the destruction of our once great nation. Our Constitution is being assaulted on all fronts; our military and, therefore, our national defense is being rapidly dismantled; our infrastructure and industry is being shut down; and through the open borders plus the proposed amnesty, the Cloward/Piven plan for flooding the welfare system to bring about an economic crash is being followed to the letter. Only a (half) black president, backed by the liberal left and MSM's claiming one is a racist if they disagree with illegal Executive Orders, could possibly have gotten away with this level of treason. The sheeple are now herded, penned, and ready for slaughter.
As for cops wearing cameras, with the level of militarization of local police departments, the fact that they now will not accept trainees with an IQ higher than 100, and the rash of recent reports of cops beating, tasing, and shooting innocent people to death, coupled with the knockless and often warrantless SWAT raids often conducted at the wrong addresses, I am all for video documentation of our public servants. Most cops already have dashcams, why not lapel cams? The days of Andy Taylor and Barney Fife are long over.
I suspect that it will not be long until a new "national holiday" in honor of Michael Brown will be announced.
It will be taught to our children that he is a martyr who was simply trying to stand for his people's rights to "snatch and grab" and the police coerced him into a fight so they could execute him.
I have an idea. I think it'd be more efficient for everyone who's doing the HUDS gesture to just raise one hand--say, the right--rather than both hands. Oh, and don't forget to lock the elbow and extend the arm at a 45-degree angle.
And so the thuggishness of the left is now raised to the level of the religious - you are correct Doc. And so the decay, started by The Great Society (or was it the New Deal) and epitomized by Detroit, continues in the inner city. Rather than the Black community, as Mr. Barkley has indicated, truly looking into itself for why, in our "wonderful" multicultural country, their culture is one of fermentation, mold, and rot (my words, not Mr. Barkley's), they instead lift this thug to the level of a deodorant-drying gesture.
Wonderful.
Multiculturalism is sinking us into extinction - the thugs like Brown are lucky to have left the theater early ...
I hate this admin.
I find it alarming that this new $250 million is really federalizing all local police forces (our money, our rules) ... while the president has floated the idea of nationalizing the electric system for climate change - meanwhile i healthcare news: http://nypost.com/2014/12/02/the-president-rewrites-the-obamacare-law-again/ Thousands of pages of changes to the health care law ... by mere order and not lawful congressional action. Is there any area of endeavor left in this nation that the Democrats aren't trying to make a federal bailiwick? It must make Putin blush to have so much power over a real economy. And to do it with such blatant race, flimflam 'science' and "oops we screwed up, give us another chance while no one is looking" ... and the Republicans are really doing nothing to stop it. The new congressional majority seems rather milquetoast at the moment ... and while sure, in January they really take over, the president has a month or two more to monkey with the system.
Suing the president seems rather silly -- surely something more substantive and not hopeful-prayerful to find a nice judge would be the thing to do.
Ah, I've said it before, the entire rotten carcass will come to crash within another presidential term or two -- regardless of who gets in office ... and the only solution I've ever seen is to remove both parties from office ... and vote in some Libertarians who might start the Great Dismantlement.
While I see problems and abuse arising from turning all the police officers into their own reality shows, I'm not completely against it. In theory, it could also help them. Maybe even act as a deterrent against some of the thugs they have to deal with.
However, when it comes to the "public servants" who assault me the most frequently... I'd have to recommend that all elected officials should be sporting lapel cameras whenever they're acting in an official capacity first. Worry about the cops later, as they do far less damage to society as a whole.
Race.
We've been having this liberal “conversation” about race, for about half a century, in which, nobody gets a word in edgewise except white liberal hypocrites and black racists, and about which most Americans are fed up to the back teeth. I know I am.
And where has it gotten us? It's got us from the race riots of the Sixties in the inner cities – from which the inner cities never recovered – to a nice little race riot in the St. Louis suburbs. And the significant thing about the Ferguson race riot is that the white Democratic governor of the state of Missouri didn't dare send in the National Guard until the day after the rioters had burned the place down.
Things happening with our country are like some of the novels I've read. The ones that could 'never happen' but make entertaining reading!
@Proof- Considering how often their hands are in our pockets, it is surprising when we see both hands at once.
@Bruce Bleu- Well, if a black friend said that then I can admit it's funny - right?
@Paladin- Good point. They got canonized by picking fights with people who had cannons.
@Dobro Player- I have no doubt that there are bad cops, same as bad (fill in any profession here). But I don't think there's an epidemic of racism and/or abusive behavior and I think cameras would help back that up.
@REM1875- That's a funny mental image. And also a not so funny possibility.
@Geoff King- I agree that racial incitement is actually just another tool the Left is using to reach their broader goal of destabilizing and ultimately crippling our nation.
And I do get nervous about the over-militarization of the police force. Especially when I know that people like Obama and Holder would be happy to see that force turned against Tea Party types such as myself.
@Mr. Mike- You're probably right. Brown is the new Rosa Parks. From hell.
@DavidD- Plus, it's a gesture they're already familiar with!
@Froaderick Barbarossa- It's a sin and a crying shame to see what's happened to black Americans over the past decades. Too many of them are enslaved and hopeless (and yes, understandably angry).
Their plight is less due to racism than political exploitation. And it sickens me.
@Jim Hlavac- Good points, with depressing variety in subject matter. I think that "crash" is coming, but I worry about whether we'll be able to pick up the pieces.
@txGreg- I love the idea of cameras for (and on) politicians. And how about live feeds of what's on the computers of our paid government employees? I think we'd all be appalled by the amount we're spending to have people watch porn and play solitaire.
@PRY- Good post. For those of us of a certain age (sigh), we've seen enough of the "big picture" over the past decades to know damn well what isn't working, and what direction things are going.
And still the Left fights tooth and nail to keep black kids from getting access to decent schools or giving them the skills to move up the economic ladder.
I wish this was just dystopian fiction...
Great posts today, but such painful subject matter. Regarding that asswipe Holder, I can only imagine what his ultimate plan is to stop racial profiling. It may be as bizarre as implenting a law (i.e. proclamation from HRH O'Liar) that makes it illegal to arrest a black person. Or maybe the police have to arrest a white person for every black person they arrest? Sounds ridiculous, but I put nothing past this anti-American POS. I just wish more black folks could see that Holder and O'Liar are hell bent on (in the sage words of Joe Biden) keeping them in chains. If the typical black voter ever starts paying attention and listening to leaders like Ben Carson or Tim Scott, O'Liar and his ilk are toast.
@Dobro Player,
The media silence is deafening when a black cop shoots somebody.
@Geoff King,
You have summed it up so nicely. O'Liar is, indeed, a king. He is the king of distraction, smoke and mirrors. He could give a rat's ass about this country; his only goal is to elevate himself, and I honestly sometimes wonder if he isn't the friggin' antichrist.
@Jim Hlavac,
I love the idea of a Great Dismantlement! The founders intended for the federal goverment to only provide for the safety of the citizenry. The Department of Defense should be the ONLY federal agency. All else goes back to the States.
The "dystopian fiction" is becoming a fact thanks to the thug in the White House. This whole Ferguson thing is just another part of the plan to lower this country to a third world order. This regime has to be stopped.
"Hands up, don't shoot!" ??
Don't be teasing me. I know they're all really dancing the Hokey Pokey. That goes waaaayy back.
Typo free version:
Thanks, Geoff King. Completely agree with your insights. The latest staged racial injustice foil seems yet another tired "Squrriel!" I'm not deterred from the country's main and biggest threat -- $18trillion in debt and growing plus unfunded liabilities, neither of which has seen ANY public attention in a few years. Bad, bad, bad. I see China seizing some of our land as compensation" for debt owed, and Cyprus-style bank account seizures by VJ & crew, our $19 trillion in retirement accounts to be specific, in our future. This will "have" to be done, to maintain our good credit, the Left will say. Curious that the outstanding debt is approaching the same numbers as total US retirement holdings.
It's all about payback for past historical wrongs, don't cha know. Never mind the $10 trillion ALREADY spent on Johnson's Great Society transfers and the +700,000 killed in the Civil War to free Slaves. "We want more!!!!" :(
This won't end well.
Grizzly,
This bunch of lefties couldn't do the Hokey Pokey. When they got to the bit about "put your right foot out..." they'd be lost.
So here we are on the verge of another (shudder) GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN! OMG!
That's the narrative the lefties keep alive, and it sounds so scary! I just wish OUR side could get this truth out: we all belong to a union, called the USA, and when the folks in charge and we cannot see things eye to eye, well, what happens? Well, usually, a labor strike! Dems encourage these, do they not?
A government shutdown is nothing more than the result of a strike by the American people, and Democrats know it! It’s just another example of Democrat self-serving hypocrisy.
Democrats either support Unions and their right to strike or they don’t; they can’t have it both ways.
So it’s time for Republicans to turn the Democrat narrative on its head and stop calling it a government shutdown. Start calling it what it really is – a union strike!
Instead of cameras on cops.....how about cameras on welfare recipients?? That way we can see every lazy ignorant thing a recipient does. Stealing smoking dope looting selling drugs food stamp fraud etc etc etc.....see how the welfare class would like to scrutinized to the enth-degree.
