HnC Vault: Overseas Contingency

Originally published March 27, 2009

Also, instead of "Commander in Chief," the President's title will now be "Obfuscation Executive Extraordinaire."

Update 3/26/11

This cartoon was plucked from the past (exactly two years ago) because of the president's latest assault on the English language. After firing over 100 cruise missiles into Libya, dropping bombs, attacking Muammar Gadhafi's residence, and generally blowing the hell out of a lot of things, the Whitehouse has declared that none of this is "war" - it's simply a "kinetic military action." Which, we suppose, means that nobody will get "killed" - they'll just assume "non-kinetic status."

And here's another "man-caused disaster" in the language department: we're sick of hearing Barack Hussein Obama saying that "our policy is that Gadhafi has to go," but then emphasize that it doesn't mean we'll do anything to make him go.

Here's a news bulletin, Mr. president: "policy" is kinetic. It isn't what you hope for, it's what you do. If you say that American policy is for Gadhafi to go, then it means we intend to take whatever actions are necessary to make it happen. And if we're not prepared to do that, then it isn't "policy" - it's simply self-serving, political wordplay.

Very dangerous wordplay.

Dumb old Bush was ridiculed for using the term "axis of evil" to describe the countries whose leaders wished us harm. And he named the countries. It will be interesting to hear what Obama has to say Monday evening. For the record, Bush had it right.

These idiots seem to love their acronyms. "Winning The Future" = WTF!
"Kinetic Military Action" = KMA!

So do these idiots think we can't see past their games? WTF? As far as I'm concerned, this administration can KMA.

@Bruce in KC- I hadn't picked up on that. Well done!

Good one, Bruce.
I am unconvinced that American lives will not be sacrificed in this hare-brained KMA scheme. What I am convinced of is that, should American boots end up on the ground in Libya, they won't be his, and the dead Americans in those boots won't be anyone he knows...or cares about. I want that socialist sack of excrement gone.

President Obama is the greatest embarassment ever elected to the office. However, he will still get 75 percent of unmarried mothers, 97 percent of Blacks, 88 percent of Hispanics and 75 percent of self identified "gay" voters. The percentages of Union, Government employees and people receiving various entitlements are also very high. This coalition amounts to a absolute certainty for a second term REGARDLESS OF WHAT HE DOES IN OFFICE. I repeat -- there is NOTHING, NOTHING including disbanding our defense forces and announcing he will be ruling the country according to whatever instructions ar sent to him by various foreign powers --- NOTHING that can keep him from re-election. These people will vote him back in chanting meaningless things like "it took 8 years for Bush to mess it up" and "let's give him a chance" or "What about Cheney?". We have created a self reinforcing self perpetuating group of ignorant or blindly self interested voting machines. Starting before first grade they are taught to memorize various phrases in lieu of thinking. What "logic" they do follow is actually a familiarity with movie and tv plotting techniques. Before we can return to a democratic republic we will first need to suffer under a dictatorship of some sort that will beat, brainwash and/or kill the stupidity out of the populace. THEN, they may rebel against that system. They will never rebel against the kool aid kid. I talk to his supporters every day and they are like trained mice -- no longer human.

@moronpolitics- I hope you're wrong but fear you're right. I don't think his re-election is a sure thing, but it's going to be a tough uphill battle to drag him from the Whitehouse.

Used to be, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Now I know. I'm crying. George Orwell had it right. Dammit.

Moronpolitics, you might have added in the genuinely moronic U.S. Jews, who by and large vote enthusiastically for this latter-day antisemite. I think they weighed in with about 78% also in 2008. Those numbers may be slipping a little, but the fact that even 1% vote for The One is impossible to understand, given that we are all assured that the Jews are the smartest single tribe that still exists in today's world.
