Stark Waving Mad

obama, obama jokes, political, humor, cartoon, hope n' change, hope and change, stilton jarlsberg, election, midterm, 2014, pelosi, ebbing

Following last week's blowout election, Democrats are scrambling for ways to put a positive spin on their wretched, all-encompassing defeat. Specifically, they're denying that they were defeated at all.

The most recent voice of insanity is that of Nancy Pelosi, who said of the Republican victory: "I don't consider it a wave - I think of it as an ebbing of Democratic voters." In other words, the Dems had more than enough voters for a commanding victory if the voters had just, you know, voted.  But instead, they stayed home - watching TV and, you know, ebbing. But outside of that little technicality, the midterms should be considered a huge win for the Left and other clinically insane people.

RECENT BITS AND PIECES FROM FACEBOOK...

In the months leading up to the midterms, Democrats running for election avoided Obama like he was firehosing the Ebola virus out of his every orifice. But what is a lonely president to do in circumstances like that?

It turns out that Barry used the opportunity to write a chummy, and secret, letter to Ayatollah Khamenei in which he suggested that if Iran would help us deal with ISIS, the United States would give Iran more time to put the finishing touches on nuclear weapons with which to destroy Israel and generally set the entire world on fire.

All of which should remind every American to be grateful when this president is toodling around the greens in a golf cart instead of playing with the pens and papers he finds on his desk.

And finally, we'll note that Obama has named Loretta Lynch as his nominee to replace Eric Holder as Attorney General. It is unknown whether she will also continue her country singing career.

Lynch is considered to be singularly well-qualified for the job, having gained a reputation as an advocate against "human rights abuses" committed by the filthy, horrible police (in fairness, the case she's most associated with really was a vile crime committed by a policeman against a minority).  She also recently given a speech in which she characterized voter ID laws as attempts to "take back" the gains made by Martin Luther King Jr.

She is expected to win unanimous approval for the position, because no one but no one in the GOP wants to be described in the MSM as being part of a "Lynch mob." And trust us, they would be.

Looks rather like her father was Frank Marshall Davis, too.

Or one of them just likes to dress up in drag.

The ears give it away. Dumbo is jealous.

If it comes from this white hut it can not be good. So who is loretta lynch and why don't I got any of her cw albums?

Yes, Loretta Lynch appears to be a direct clone of Eric Holder. The only difference being if anyone complains about her race-baiting and partisan based unequal treatment of the law, they will be labeled both racist and sexist at the same time.
In other news, Ødildo - Mr. Nobel Peace Prize himself - is now calling for more boots on the ground in Iraq. Oh well, he did live up to his campaign promise to pull the troops out. He never said for how long.

Over the decades there have been so few cabinet choices ever turned down that almost anyone he picked would win confirmation. Surely the confirmation process is rigged in this regard. Regardless of who won the elections, Obama would have been safe picking whoever he wishes - just the vote totals for confirmation would be different.

The question then should be why doesn't the Congress vote itself the power to propose a list of say 10 probables, and the president gets to pick one. And in this way, the party in charge of congress gets a say in the pick from the get go.

And, why is there not a preset list of requirements of experience before the president could even consider them. Perhaps a Ms. Lynch wouldn't qualify.

Yes, yes, pie in the sky dreaming, but someone has to make proposals, or we'll always be stuck with what we got. Which is what we always kvetch about.

Had some interesting interactions with some of my Progressive friends, one of which actually works for regional Democrats.

The Kool-Aid reaches farther than I even thought.

Of course, the guys who sound like they're parroting what they get off of the Daily Kos (didn't even realize they still existed after Bush left) are ignorant and delusional to begin with. Since they get their narrative spoon-fed off the far-left sites, they automatically assume that everyone who disagrees with them must be parroting Fox news. (I often remind them that having ditched my cable TV subscription, I don't even get Fox news, not that I watched it before)

The more interesting interaction came from the "connected" guy, who honestly believes that the economy is doing "well", and honestly cannot understand why voters resoundingly rejected the Democrats, beyond their being bamboozled by Fox.

Even after being reminded that most people are not doing "well", and after inflation, stagnant wages or accepting lower-paying jobs and higher health care costs, and doing worse. 2% growth is what we used to fire Presidents and political parties over. That the Democrats now laud the "new normal" as "good" doesn't float with them.

In the end, these people honestly believe that Americans are an ignorant and ungrateful lot for casting aside Obama and the Democrats for what they see as a good economy.

So yes, it's true. They honestly are that out-of-touch with reality. Marie Antoinette had a better connection with her people than this bunch.

Why do I get the feeling that the photo on the left is "Shaniqua" Breckenridge?

It's amazing to me that with blacks only 12% of the population, and the fact that every black barry has selected so far is an incompetent MORON, that barry can't find even ONE honky to put into the AG position.
I'm thinking maybe lamont isn't from Kenya, but rather Dumbbabwe!

This just in: Obama wants to regulate Internet providers the same way that voice-phone companies are regulated.

Yeah, that's a step forward. Because the telco industry is totally vibrant compared to the Internet. The rules that the telcos operate under were written in the 1930s! If we're going to do anything, we should be deregulating telephone service to be more like the Internet providers.

But of course, that's not what the Progressive believe or want. They believe they can micromanage everything better, and this is just another example.

As yourself this: Think of the most vibrant, innovated, customer-centric industries in America today. Which are they? The old-line highly regulated industries, or the very un-regulated?

I stopped Facebooking a couple years ago, but my wife still does. Her account is lit up by a bazillion moonbats screaming racism, rigged election, the end of humanity, rising oceans, volcanic destruction, Armeggedon.... The economy is now going to stop it's record growth, and Wall Street will crash into ashes. No big surprise Nan is leading the "I'm too durn stoned and ignorant to know WTF is really happening in the world" crusade.

@Jim Hlavac,
I really like that idea, and it makes a tremendous amount of sense. So, your suggestion is doomed from the get go, sadly. Seems like, in the old days, Presidents would actually make a concerted effort to pick people that were the best qualified for the job. Sure, there were always politics involved, but they usually tried to nominate people with actual qualifications and experience pertainent to the job. O'Liar looks no further than skin color or gender. Of course, WE are the racists...

@Stilton,
What the heck is that on Nan's hands?! Has she been playing with her own poop again?

I admit I haven't been following the DOJ nomination news closely, so I must ask...Has Øbamma been seen in the same places, at the same time as his nominee?
They look so similar that I think of the old Superman series where a business suit and glasses was the perfect disguise.
Oh well we can at least take "comfort" in the announcement The Wahn made that he will act via executive order with regard to illegals entering America.

@Anonymous- Seriously, we're only a wart and a pair of earrings from these two being identical twins.

@REM1875- It was actually a friend of mine on Facebook who originally claimed to confuse her with Loretta Lynn; I'd like to give credit to whoever that was but can't find the comment now. Also, notice how tasteful I was in avoiding any reference to Lynch as a coal miner's daughter.

@Geoff King- Trying to take a "glass half full" attitude, I'm going to hope that Lynch is better than Holder has been. God knows he hasn't set the bar very high.

@REM1875- Yes, a VERY Happy Birthday to the Marines! (I saw a funny bumper sticker online: "Yes, the Marines are a department of the Navy. The Men's department.")

@Jim Hlavac- I like your idea in theory, but probably wouldn't like it in practice. I'm sure the Dems can come up with a list of 10 godawful nominees for anything on short notice.

@Grumpy Curmudgeon- Amen to that, and a big "thank you" to the world's greatest ass-kicking machine!

@John the Econ- A liberal acquaintance of mine had a complete mental breakdown on Facebook after the election, and raved that Obama creates more jobs in a year than Bush did in his entire term, that the deficit has been slashed, and that the economy is booming. And I'm sure he believes every syllable. Perhaps because he'd rather believe the far, far, far left wing blogs he cited rather than his own eyes.

@Bruce Bleu- In fairness, while Barry seems to prefer choosing African-Americans, he's really been pretty good about giving power to incompetent morons of every color.

@John the Econ- I hadn't heard this yet, but it has the stench of accuracy. After Barry gets through with the Internet, we'll have slots on our computers to feed in quarters like old pay phones.

@Colby Muenster- I'm on Facebook, but it's a pretty wacky place. I'm reluctant to use most social media.

That being said, I think one of my favorite things about this election is seeing the number of liberals on Facebook who have gone entirely insane. Hilariously, they curse their fellow Dems who share their beliefs but were "too stupid" to go vote. I'm not sure they see the irony of admitting that they share their beliefs with stupid people.

And regarding Nan's hands, of course she's been playing with her own poop. After all, she has to pass it to see what's in it...

John the Econ said...

@Colby Muenster, I actually had the opposite experience on Facebook; In the days immediately following the election, the people who usually post left-wing nonsense (usually not original content, but lazily forwarded from some far-left page or site) literally went silent. Clearly, they were in shock and had no answers.

That was until the weekend, when this revised narrative was released, that the deficit is down, stock market is booming, and the ignorant voters just didn't get it.

And they all say the exact, same thing. (And they accuse us of being slaves to Fox)

They really took offense to my pointing out that it's completely disingenuous to take credit for the deficit, considering that the Democrats haven't passed a budget since Obama became President! If anyone should get credit for a reduced deficit, it ought to be the GOP for obstructing the Presidents profligate spending dreams.

And, as you have all heard me say here many times before, the stock market bubble almost exclusively benefits the affluent at the expense of the poor and middle class. If you are wealthy and have six-or-more-figures invested in the stock market over the last 5 years, you've done very well. On the other hand, if you don't have money in the stock market, you got nothing. What you got in exchange for that was zero-percent return on your savings, and inflation that makes your day-to-day purchases more expensive.

And this is what the Democrats argue has been great for everyone!

John the Econ said...

@Stilton, if you really want to drive these people crazy, all you need to is provide simple replies and facts.

For example, as for the "Obama's created umpteen-million jobs" meme, simply ask this:

"If as an employer, I fire 1 employee and then replace that 1 employee with 2 part-time employees, does Obama get to count that as 1 or 2 jobs created?"

They won't respond to that. They can't. But you can rest assured that you are now living rent free between their ears as they lose a few more brain cells agonizing over that twisted logic.

Grumpy Curmudgeon said...

@John the Econ: What I see is mission creep - first, establishing the internet as a 'utility', then regulating the 'utility', then deciding what can be broadcast over the 'utility', i.e., similar to the network censors on the broadcast TV networks.

Remember the tenet "First they came for...."

Soon 'ol Barry and his legal crone and all the little Barrys who proclaim that their loss was because of the biased rantings on the conservative blogs and the unregulated, FEC free, conservative political videos that made such fools of them, actually fall under the regulatory responsibility of the FCC and will be blocked.
They tried this months ago and were stopped, but they will just weasel around and try another tact until they get what they want.

As for Lynch, I'm willing to watch for while. She has two years to show us who she is in this position. For now I'm just very glad Holder is out.

Is it safe to say that most of us have moved up a few levels in our understanding of the EXTENT that the left will go to in order that their lies make it to as many ill-informed sheeple as possible? Speaking strictly for myself, I now feel I understand exactly what is going on in the area of public policy.

Funny thing is...I had studied the effects of Communism years ago and how that ideology was disseminated, and now after 6 years of intensive attention to the US president, I find these ideologies are ONE AND THE SAME!

I believe, myself, and many others who have had this epiphany share a belief in the basic American goodness of our leaders, kinda foolishly I admit. Evil does exist, and communism does not work...neither in Russia, or the United States!

Considering the crap Congress calls a budget, the tenacity of complete idiots to continue the Progressive agenda, and the fact most in Congress have the reasoning power of garden vegetables, a person of any intelligence above singe digits must be insane to trust their judgement.

I'd rather have Pee Wee Herman as new Attorney General. At least he's entertaining and willing to keep his pursuit of sex beyond that which costs taxpayers money.

It's the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Watching the coverage on network news, it occurred to me that all of the stories I've seen talk about the wall coming down, and the mega-party that followed. But I have yet to see a story that talks about why the wall fell.

The Berlin Wall fell because ordinary citizens could see the world outside, decided that they didn't want to live in a failing nation-sized prison anymore.

And yet who is the media focusing on this week? Mikhail Gorbachev, who fought in vain to preserve the prison that encased half of Europe. The fall of the Berlin Wall was the irreversible beginning of the end for the Soviet Union. Who aren't getting any love? The leaders most responsible; Margaret Thatcher, Pope John Paul II, and of course, Ronald Reagan.

Today's Progressives are heirs to the ideology of Jimmy Carter, Helmut Schmidt and Francois Mitterand and Pierre Trudeau who were all content to let Eastern Europe remain a prison, forever.

So as they laud the party that they see as the fall of the wall, the megastates of the supposedly free west now employ tools that the East German Stasi couldn't even dream about in the '80s. Every government agency is being transformed into an enforcer of political purity, from the IRS to the National Science Foundation.

So it's easy to see why the reasons for the fall of the Berlin Wall aren't getting much coverage. It's either because the current generation of journalists are ignorant of the reasons, or just assume that we don't remember them.
