Take This Hijab And Shove It

obama, obama jokes, political, humor, cartoon, conservative, hope n' change, hope and change, stilton jarlsberg, terror, ISIS, state department, harf

New insight on the ISIS crisis was delivered on the Monday edition of alleged news show "Hardball" by chirpy-voiced State Department spokesperson Marie Harf, whose wisdom should absolutely be respected despite the fact that she's only 17 years old and has a last name that sounds like a drunk violently upchucking in a toilet bowl.

"We cannot win this war by killing (ISIS)," Harf squeaked. "We cannot kill our way out of this war."

Gosh, Marie - you're right! Nobody has ever won a war by killing the enemy! At least, not in your brief lifetime. So what exactly can we do to cope with this growing tidal wave of fanatical killers?

We need to be "fighting them on social media," according to Harf, no doubt alluding to the fierce warriors of Tweet Team Six. And "we need, in the longer term, to go after the root causes that lead people to join these groups."

Root causes like rabid Islamic radicalism - right, Marie? Right...?

Of course not! The root cause is "lack of opportunity for jobs." No doubt because those profit-seeking (as opposed to Prophet-seeking) bastards from WalMart opened megastores all over the Middle East and put all of the small local businesses out of work.

But what Hope n' Change finds a little hard to understand is why unemployment is forcing ISIS members to behead and immolate people, while Democrats in the United States routinely suggest that unemployment is actually a liberating experience which encourages the idle citizenry to create works of art, music, and literature.

In any event, thanks to Barack Obama's job creation skills, we assume that there will soon be oodles of employment opportunities for ISIS members both overseas and right here at home. At least, until we run out of shovel-ready Christians and Jews.

I remember during the great depression, when all the unemployed were beheading people in the streets.

Hello,

Why would we listen to these children?

So, it's unemployment that leads to terrorism? That explains why, during a recent period of my life that a lack of work forced me to live in the woods, I ran around brutally chopping branches off of trees and setting them on fire.
Perhaps we only need to bomb ISIS with food stamps and welfare checks to stop the bloodshed.

I really cannot think of anything to say. As Stilton notes, when has a war ever been won by killing the enemy? What can anyone say to such feckless lying and stupidity. Maybe if their mothers hadn't smoked during pregnancy. Maybe if they had been exposed to PBS at an early age. Their behavior just doesn't fit in with our 21st century hashtag pajama-boy ethos.

Time to put on my hair shirt so I can go to work and keep funding this rolling, accreting pile of stinking crap called the Obama "administration".

BTW, who is John Galt?

@Anonymous- That's what made the Great Depression so, uh, depressing.

@Bill Moore- I looked up Marie Harf's age online and was surprised that she claims to be 33. So while she looks like a grad student, she's old enough to know better.

@Geoff King- Food stamps and welfare checks are a good start, but let's not forget the importance of also sending ISIS killers to community colleges for free.

@TrickyRicky- In fairness, there's a smidgen (as Barry would say) of logic in what Harf says. The ideology of the ISIS crowd isn't going to change until their whole society progresses. But that isn't ever going to happen until the anti-modernists of ISIS are killed. So whether Marie likes it or not, our first priority needs to be dealing death on a massive scale to these assholes.

All Ms. Harf needs is curly hair and she could be Lefty Lucy. Did she ever take a history class? I believe WW II was won by KILLING people. The only way to defeat an enemy is to eliminate it. But first the enemy must be identified!

The unbelievable savagery of ISIS is only equaled by the unbelievable stupidity of the White House talking heads. In the first place the present government can't even produce a vibrant economy here such as we have seen in the past and, as stated, a vibrant economy is NOT what ISIS and their ilk are looking for. They just want complete dominance, nothing less, and have no idea how or where the goods such as food will come from after that.

And, the nice young lady brings new meaning to such phrases as "she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer", "brightest bulb in the chandelier", "her elevator doesn't go all the way to the top", and many more. And to top (so to speak) it off, she's blonde! Then again, in her defense, she and most of the others are paid talking heads and have absolutely no idea of the gravity of the situation.

And so, it comes full circle back to the voters who put the government where they are today thereby putting all of us in the unenviable position in which we find ourselves. Folks, it ain't a pretty future that we're looking at. I have great grand children whose own great grand children will still be paying for the crimes of this administration.

Ker----splooooosh! Wow! That must feel like a kick to Big Jim and the Twins to this administration.

It's amazing, when you just lay it out on the table (not unlike the chick in the article on prom night), it must be evident to even the smallest pea-brain that everything this admin says and does makes about as much sense as a soccer bat.

Neal Hilistic said...

@Anonymous - yeah it was ugly. Hey, but you know, you see it all the time on skid row too. Beheadings ...

Hey Doc, seriously, my idea the other day.

If these Harf-types, these credentialists, if they are so good at the academic exercise of creating "jobs", let's convince them to ALL go over there, meet with ISIS and volunteer for their (ISIS') shovel-reading work. New twist on my reality show thing. They gently explain how it will all work, how the ISIS people will just get over it and so on. The people filming are naturally sympathetic progs too. We have a couple of nuclear-armed B2s flying over head. Once the video is all transmitted out for broadcast on the Disney channel, we nuke'm. Progs, ISIS, bloodthirsties, all gone in one fell swoop.

It could work, dammit! Go with me on this!

How did America elect so many stupid people? Why are there so many stupid people in the media that let them get away with their stupidity?

Neal Hilistic said...

Marie Harf today - emphasis added.

“If we looked around the world and say long-term we cannot kill every terrorist around the world nor should we try, how do you get at the root causes of this?” she asked. “Look, it might be too nuanced of an argument for some like I’ve seen over the past 24 hours some of the commentary out but it’s really the smart way for Democrats, for Republicans, military commanders, our partners in the Arab world think we need to combat it.”

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@Judi King- Yes, Ms. Harf and Lefty Lucy are cut from the same cloth.

World War II is a great example to look at here. Reconstruction of the Japanese economy obviously was a huge part of eventually resolving our ideological war and becoming allies. But we did all of that AFTER dropping a couple of nukes on the sumbitches to get their attention and end the fighting in the physical war.

@Fred Ciampi (and others)- Here's a long article about "What ISIS Really Wants." Hint: it ain't jobs.

ISIS must be wiped from the Earth before any economic rehab plans can be considered.

@Japheaux- Per the article I link to above, the crazies in that part of the world don't think like we do and don't want what we want. Which is why Ms. Harf's comments may play favorably with the Ivy League nitwit Left but really don't apply to reality.

@Neal Hilistic- I'm completely in favor of sending Washington brainiacs to ISIS to explain the benefits and personal satisfaction of working as Halal burger flippers. And if it doesn't go well, then we do some retaliatory strikes to turn the region into glowing glass.

@Neal Hilistic- Yeah, it is too nuanced an argument - especially if you're on your knees with an ISIS knife-wielder standing behind you, or you're locked in a cage wearing a gasoline-soaked orange jumpsuit.

As I said above, "long term" victory may require a broader socioeconomic approach. But after we kill all the current bad guys in ways which will discourage additional recruitment.

Holy crap @Stilton! Did you whip up some kind of magic potion and make "Lefy Lucy" come to life and get a job with the Obama Administration?

It's days like this I really wish I could get paid for dissecting the pathology that is the modern Progressive mind, because this is the mother lode. It's literally all here! "Multiculturalism", "peace at all costs", and the subordination of all other Progressive values to maintain the delusion.

Seriously. Do they honestly believe that if they only had some Foxconn jobs making iPhones and had ObamaCare, they wouldn't be in the jihad business?

Brilliant observation @Stilton, that jihad is exactly what one gets when people are truly liberated from work, and permitted to spend their idle time creating works of art, music, literature, or war. (Wasn't it only a few months ago when we got to watch how the liberated denizens of Ferguson MO spend their free time?)

IMHO, the problem is the opposite. The only reason that these people are able to conduct their jihad is because our global society produces so much surplus that people like this don't have to work, leaving them free to ferment their hate and ambitions. If they were living in a true subsistence economy, they'd be too busy trying to personally survive to be causing this kind of trouble, and the rest of the global community would have a better reason to put a stop to it.

The "if they only had jobs and healthcare" meme also falls apart when you consider how many of these jihadists come from affluent western nations. Clearly, they aren't staying home for the free health care and condoms.

As for the "social media" war, clearly the Obama Administration hasn't noticed that the jihadists are winning it. Sociopaths love beheading and immolation videos, and love the idea of being on a winning team. It's really not much of match between what ISIS puts up and what the Obama Administration puts up.

As for what the Islamic statists want, it's pretty clear. Just as Hitler made what he had in mind quite clearly in his book, what the Islamist want is all in theirs.

Here's the "Cliff Notes" version: Once they're done with the easy targets in the middle east, like the few remaining Jews, Christians, and homosexuals, they'll move on against everyone else who doesn't conform. That includes those deemed not-sufficiently Muslim, which is pretty much everybody.

Of course, due to the hierarchy of Progressive values where "Peace at all Costs" and "Multiculturalism" are at the top, they will continue to deny this until the beheader's knives are at their own throats. It's not the first time the left has been in such a level of obvious denial.

The bbc and npr are not even that anti-American.

I'm with Neal Hilistic. Send all the progressive dimwits like Harf over to Iraq or Syria wearing their "Coexist" t-shirts. This would make us happy, and it would give ISIS something constructive to do for a while, so they could get that "atta boy" feeling. It's the old two birds with one stone bit.

And Stilton, you've hit several nails on the head. The Japanese would not relent in WW2 until we nuked their asses. It was a horrible thing to do, and a deeply saddening loss of life, but in my mind, they brought in on themselves.

Our young Miss Marie is a prima facie example of a person being steeped in liberalism all her enlightened life. In her nuanced world, the theories bandied about in the faculty lounges and cocktail parties are real and will work THIS time because they are oh so smart and nuanced. Those cretin Republicans just wouldn't understand. She's never been exposed to the truth. In other words, she's the perfect Obama hire.

But hey, if you are looking for any good Jewish or Christian organs, ISIS may have a deal for you:

ISIS is suspected of selling human organs for money in Iraq

Perhaps we could get Ms. Harf a new brain. I hear there are a lot of spare ones rolling around these days.

So, Marie Harf looks like Lefty Lucy, only in awesome black (or are they brown?) glasses. I saw someone in the supermarket the other night who looked just like Lefty Lucy, only in awesome red glasses. What's happening here??

Bruce Bleu said...

If JOBS is the only solution to ISIS' murderous rampages, how is it that we don't have millions of Jihadis in America, since lamont has hosed the job market here?
ANYWAY, the ISIS camelshaggers already HAVE jobs... making suicide vests, constructing IED's, planting explosives in Toyota trucks, building campfires with pilots, making rockpiles over Christians... them having "jobs" doesn't seem to be the problem!
And, as far as Marie Harf is concerned, is her favorite man RUUUUUPert Murdoch, if she spent a LOT of time in saloons would she be a BARFly, if she picks up a heavy object does she give it the ol' HEAVE ho, if she goes to an event with Joe Biteme does she ask for someone to "stand UPCHUCK", if she has a temper tantrum does she HURL stuff around, does she shop for groceries at RALPH's supermarket?

John the Econ said...

Seems that Ms. Harf has responded to her critics, by doubling-down on her insipid "if they only had education, jobs and health care" meme and in true elitist-Progressive fashion has blamed the entire misunderstanding on us. You see, we're simply to dumb and ignorant to understand her and her "too nuanced" messaging. The world would be much better off if we'd just tune out and her her, Obama, and their clique of Ivy League geniuses solve this.

BTW, my definition of "nuance" in the political realm comes from when the "nuanced" candidate John Kerry was running for President: "Nuance" is obfuscating what you really mean as to convince your opposition that you mean the opposite while making them feel too stupid to realize it." It's simply another sign of the contempt that the leftist elite have for the rest of America.

"If we can help countries work at the root causes of this -- what makes these 17-year-old kids pick up an AK-47 instead of trying to start a business?"

They can't create jobs here. What makes her think they can there? Has she ever tried to start a business in Obama's America?

But I had to give Wolf Blitzer credit for once, pointing out that some of the world's most notorious terrorists, including bin Laden, came from wealth and privilege, were well educated and ran businesses too.

John the Econ said...

Speaking of "harfing", I caught some of Obama's speechifying at yesterday's phony "terrorism summit". He was in full "community organizer" mode like Harf, spewing the left's usual meaningless platitudes about how this is really all about poverty, education and jobs.

It's like we're stuck in Harry Potter world, and nobody at the Ministry of Magic can come out and say "Voldemort is here".

But it's not like this Administration is totally incapable of springing out of the gate and pointing a judgmental finger, as it demonstrated the other day when a leftist-atheist killed 3 Muslims in North Carolina over a parking spot. I'm certain that Eric Holder already has the "hate crime" paperwork in his briefcase and a jet on standby to deliver them.

Oh, and Obama says they've got legitimate "grievances". Wow, so do I. I guess my grievances aren't legitimate because I'm not Muslim and I don't cut people's heads off.

"No religion is responsible for terrorism, people are responsible for violence and terrorism," says Obama. (Hmmmm. Strangely, he doesn't hold the same opinion regarding certain inanimate objects, like "guns") "We are at war with people who have perverted Islam."

So we are not at war with Islam. If that is indeed the case, then I'd like someone from the administration to answer this: What, if anything, is ISIS, Boko Haram, or any of these other splinter groups doing that Muhammad himself did not do?

The problem, from the ISIS & Boko-point-of-view is that it's the so called "moderate" Muslims who have gone soft and "perverted Islam". Muslims who have fled their homelands to live quiet, peaceful existences in the west are also considered infidels.
It's ISIS, Boko and other's mission to set everyone straight, or else.

The predictable leftist response to the above would be some retort about how the real problem is "Islamophobia" and how if left to our own agenda, we'd simply ship all the Muslims out like we'd ship all the illegals out. I wouldn't go that far. I think it would be more helpful to the well-being of both sides if we were to round up the all-knowing community organizer class infecting academia and the think tanks and drop them on Iraq, Syria, Africa, certain neighborhoods in France and Britain and wherever else to show us how this all should be done. Be sure to pack the "Coexist!" bumper stickers.

My final quote comes from Mark Steyn, who perfectly summed up the current situation of incompetence and denial with Progressive platitudes about jobs and education by saying "History is written by the victors, and from West Africa to the Hindu Kush the victors are illiterate.

"It was a horrible thing to do, and a deeply saddening loss of life"

There is a quaint Australian expression for situations like this: 'stiff shit'. The little buggers brought it on themselves and got EXACTLY what they deserved. Ask the survivors (and there weren't many) of the Rape of Nanking, the Bataan Death March, the Tol Plantation Massacre, Banka Island, Changi Prison, the Burma Railway, the Sandokan Atrocities and so on ad horribilis if they didn't want a high yield nuke dropped on downtown Tokyo. You won't find many dissenters, if at all.

You start a war, you better be prepared to win it and win it quickly before your startled opponents gain the technological advantage and use it to clean your clock. They used to say post-WW2 that (economically) 'nothing could stop the Japanese'. WRONG! I say. Radiation has been demonstrably proven to stop the little buggers in their tracks quite nicely.

The trouble with the 'West' today is that we are governed by a bunch of self-serving candyasses who can't see danger until it walks up and kicks them in the nuts. The current crop of hankyheaded troublemakers show no compunction in flying hijacked airliners into public buildings causing massive loss of life so why haven't we repaid the gesture by parking a dirty cobalt-thorium nuke in the middle of Mecca and setting it off, preferably in the middle of the Hadj? You'll see those smelly goat pesterers at the peace table faster than they can say "we are so sorry effendi!"
